Consistency
Regular attendance recognises the patience to keep showing up and practise over time.
The BKC Credit System recognises consistent practice, discipline, respect, progress and participation. It helps students and families see how the values of Traditional Karate are built through everyday choices.
Credits support learning and recognition. They do not automatically award a belt or replace a Sensei’s grading decision.
Credits connect the training floor to the habits that make a Karate-ka stronger—inside and outside the dojo.
Regular attendance recognises the patience to keep showing up and practise over time.
Monthly assessment includes respect, discipline and learning attitude—not only technique.
Punctuality, correct uniform and readiness to train are part of taking responsibility for practice.
Assessment, grading and milestones help students notice progress and keep working on the next step.
Each source reflects a different part of a student’s Karate journey. The annual score is calculated from BKC records.
Class attendance and participation are recorded.

Credits and any applicable deductions update from those records.

These are the main positive credit sources. Some categories have an annual cap; grading results are added according to each recorded outcome.
Participation earns 28 credits; Bronze 32, Silver 36 and Gold 40. The annual category is capped at 40.
Technique and development ratings turn monthly progress into annual credits.
Present attendance contributes positively across the year.
Formal grading outcomes contribute according to the result recorded by BKC.
Competition results recognise effort and achievement.
Extra learning opportunities support well-rounded development.
There is no separate incident-entry section. The credit calculation uses the attendance already recorded for class sessions and the ratings entered through the usual Monthly Assessment.
Ratings of 3–5 do not create a deduction. Leave is not counted as absence. Cancelled and future-dated sessions are excluded from absence penalties.
Traditional Karate teaches that progress is built through repeated practice and character. BKC credits make those ideas easier to talk about and encourage students to apply them consistently.
